We timed our visit to a few customers in the area to coincide with Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin. It was a busy week visiting plants around Wisconsin, plus exhibiting at Manufacturing First in Green Bay. Similar to Integr8, this show is sponsored by a regional manufacturing group and included government agencies, equipment suppliers, software providers and more, focused on helping small and mid-sized manufacturers.
One other observation was the number of suppliers and manufacturers who were focused on recruiting at their booths, not just selling. Highlighting the skilled labor challenge manufacturers in North America are facing in many regions.
A highlight was seeing all the students come through in the morning as part of the Bay Link Manufacturing program. A joint public school and industry initiative to teach high school students the skills needed by local manufacturers and help them launch careers in engineering and skilled trades. Their visit brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the show floor.
At our booth we highlighted local companies using 10in6 and shared our tools for manufacturers to digitize and analyze their plant floor – from Paperless Quality and Traceability, to Production Reporting and Real-Time visibility.
